If you’re desperate for change, there’s good news…Everything you need is already inside of you.

Address stress & anxiety at its source
Step into your most confident self
Create the kind of life you deserve

    Short-term symptom relief.

    Long-term change.

I’m Alexandra. I work with adults who are ready to start creating real change in their lives.

I understand you may have used other methods in the past to overcome the challenges you’re facing—traditional talk therapy, self-help books & podcasts…you may feel like you’ve tried it all.

Hypnotherapy is about accessing and uncovering the deep rooted beliefs behind these challenges. By tapping into the power of your subconscious mind, we can work together to actually reprogram how you respond to the obstacles in front of you, all while you remain fully aware and in control.

Putting you back in the driver’s seat of your life.

Alexandra Leaderman, Licensed Professional Counselor, CERTIFIED HYNPOTHERAPIST

I’m here to help you remove the beliefs & behaviors that are holding you back…and replace them with something new.

The work I do is grounded in the belief that everything you need to create change in your life—whether that’s change in your work, relationships, habits, or something else—is already inside of you.

I work with clients who are tired of the same old things not working anymore—who want change, and want it quickly. Hypnotherapy allows us to quickly and effectively address your challenges at their source, helping you regain the balance, freedom, and joy that is missing right now.

Together, we can change limiting beliefs to life-giving ones, unproductive habits to helpful ones, and negative thoughts to positive ones.

    How does hypnotherapy work?

ONLY 12% OF OUR MIND IS CONSCIOUS.  THE SUBCONSCIOUS IS 88%, AND, ALTHOUGH WE ARE NOT AWARE OF IT IN OUR DAY-TO-DAY LIVES, IT CONTROLS MOST OF OUR BEHAVIOR.

In hypnotherapy, we are able to gain access to the subconscious mind, allowing us to influence and reprogram the beliefs, compulsions, and emotions that are stored there. When the conscious and subconscious mind are brought into agreement, you are able to experience changes in your thought patterns, behaviors, and responses to situations.
We begin by identifying what you want: the issue or challenge you’d like to address or the habit you’d like to change. We’ll talk about what you’ve tried in the past and what you hope to get out of hypnotherapy. This serves as the roadmap for our sessions, as well as primes the subconscious mind for what we’ll be working on.

After we set our intentions, I’ll help you into a state of profound mental & physical calm relaxation, where we can access your subconscious mind and offer suggestions that help to reprogram the beliefs and emotions that are at the roots of the challenges you’re experiencing. You are 100% awake and in control throughout this entire process; you may exit this state at any time.

Then, I’ll guide you out of the hypnotic state. We’ll discuss anything specific that came up for you and the ways you can begin putting these newly reprogrammed beliefs into action in your daily life.

If you want relief (and you want it quickly), let’s work together.

    Hypnosis FAQs

    What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is simply a state of focused concentration. There are many depth levels when experiencing hypnosis. One does not need to achieve extreme depth to benefit from it.

The experience is different for each individual. Being in hypnosis is nothing like the stage hypnosis that is commonly seen. That is only one form of hypnosis. Other ways of experiencing it are when you’re on auto-pilot when driving, being completely immersed in a movie, or even when falling in love. It can also be similar to times when you are daydreaming or ‘zoned out’ so to speak.

Hypnosis is experienced by everyone on a daily basis. Yes, you have been in hypnosis already today! When you first woke up this morning, during the dreamy-drowsy state before having your cup of tea or coffee, this is one of the numerous times we are experiencing hypnosis each day. Right before we fall asleep is another time we experience hypnosis.

It is during the alpha and theta state, which is between the beta (fully awake) and delta (deep asleep) states that hypnosis occurs. With hypnotherapy, this state is used to your advantage. This is a suggestible state, where only positives are given, so your subconscious readily absorbs all this in. The subconscious is more open during this state because this is when our ‘thinking mind’ relaxes.

    Does it really work?

According to the American Psychological Association, “Hypnosis continues to show promise in reducing pain and soothing anxiety.” Pain and anxiety are only a couple of the boundless ways hypnosis is proving to work effectively.

Hypnosis is being acknowledged and used more each day within the field of licensed practitioners such as psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists. The use of hypnosis in the therapeutic setting has achieved great success in helping people create desired change. It is a tool that has been in existence for centuries to help with behavior modification. Hypnotherapists use hypnosis to help bring about relief and create healthy change for their clients using a 100% natural and safe process.

    Is Hypnosis right for you?

Is there some aspect of your life, or how you presently feel, that is not satisfactory? You have the resources within yourself to eliminate the things that are keeping you stuck. You deserve to feel better. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by exploring whether Hypnosis is right for you. In order for you to feel completely secure about your decision to use Hypnosis and make an appointment now.

    How exactly does Hypnosis work?

Everything you have ever learned is stored in your subconscious mind along with unwanted habits such as smoking or overeating. Some learned activities such as playing tennis, biking, or playing chess you want to keep and perhaps even improve upon, while others such as smoking or overeating you may want to reduce or eliminate. Hypnosis gives the subconscious mind suggestions for change or improvement. Entering a state of deep relaxation and connecting with the subconscious allows hypnotic suggestions about your goals to be taken in much more deeply. Success depends on the motivation of the client and the commitment to hypnosis a person is willing to make. Some goals are reached immediately; others take more reinforcement. Each individual is different.

    How long is a session?

Our first hypnotherapy session is up to 120 minutes. Subsequent sessions are 60 minutes in duration. Past Life Regression therapy sessions are approximately 2 hours in length.

    How do we get started?

You will get the most out of hypnotherapy if you feel comfortable with your therapist. That’s why I offer a free consultation: it’s an opportunity for you to get to know me, ask any questions you may have, and determine if I’m the right fit for you. Click this link to schedule your consultation at a time that works for you.

    How many sessions are required?

Each case is different depending on the issue at hand.  HYPNOSIS IS NOT A ONE-SESSION FIX.  Generally, a minimum number of sessions is recommended for lasting results. Powerful results can be achieved after just one session for some, while others may prefer on-going sessions over a given time. It is common to have 3-6 sessions surrounding any given issue.

    Can everyone be hypnotized?

Yes. There is a common misconception that some people are not able to go into hypnosis due to the common Stage Hypnosis we tend to associate it with.  Everyone experiences hypnosis daily. We are simply triggering this 100% natural state to work towards your advantage.

    Is hypnosis mind control?

No.  No matter how deep of a state you are under, if I suggest, ‘You are a chicken,’ chances are your mind will reject this suggestion.  It is a two-way street with hypnosis.  Your mind only takes in suggestions it is willing to accept.

*You cannot be forced/coerced into doing/believing anything you don’t want.

    *You are always in control.

*You cannot be stuck in hypnosis.

*You can awaken from hypnosis at any time simply by opening your eyes.

*You will hear everything that is said.

    *Each individual experience is unique.

*You may not feel hypnotized, when in fact you are.

*It is safe to drive after being hypnotized.

    Will I be asleep?

No, the hypnotic state resembles sleep. The conscious mind is fully awake and all the senses are functioning.

Can I be hypnotized against my will?

No. A person’s cooperation is necessary for hypnosis to occur.

Do repeated sessions increase a person’s ability to be hypnotized?

Yes. The extent of relaxation and depth of trance will improve as the number of sessions increases.

What if the person can’t wake up?

Won’t happen. However, frequently the relaxation is so enjoyable that the person decides to enjoy it for a few moments longer. If you’re left alone, then you will likely either fall asleep and awaken naturally.

Are there dangers involved with hypnosis?

No, as long as someone is not a threat to themselves or others. A consultation and conversation are required prior to scheduling our first session.

What qualities as a client should I bring to our sessions?

Motivation and cooperation. I call this “leaning in” to the experience.
